My Specialties & Services
I Work With Individuals, Children, Babies,
& Natural Health Practitioners
Individuals
Most people experience a quality of deep restfulness and peace during sessions, and the approach is to build resources in your system, focusing on where health is primarily and how that can support any dysfunction to find resolution and alleviate acute or chronic states.
Who benefits? Everybody! An extensive list of issues can be addressed with this gentle and non-invasive therapy.
Some examples are; Musculoskeletal pain and misalignment, Back pain, Depression, Anxiety, Insomnia, PTSD, Birth Trauma, Developmental Trauma,
Post-surgical/medical procedure, Pre-surgical/medical procedure, Neurodevelopmental diversities ie. Autism, Sensory Integration, CP, Learning Challenges, Headaches, Migraines, Chronic Fatigue and Immune support
Children
BCST is a very gentle and non-invasive therapy that can help children for a variety of issues including anxiety, depression and a range of learning challenges.
Preschool or school age children can also benefit from this gentle and enjoyable therapy. As children grow and develop, the therapy continues to support them and their wellbeing through their childhood in valuable ways. BCST can help with; sleep pattern disturbances, digestive system issues, after an accident or surgery to assist recovery, migraines and headaches, stress and anxiety management, and behaviour management.
Babies
As babies and children develop, BCST can support in many ways; assisting their milestones being reached, resourcing them during life’s challenges, assisting neurodevelopment and learning challenges, and supporting their health and system during physical dysfunction. There is also an emphasis on Maternal care, both prenatal and postnatal, as part of treating the infant.
Being born is momentous, the first imprint of life. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy has a history of helping the experience of birth integrate for the infant’s system. The way we navigate our experience of birth lays down a firm foundation for the function of our nervous system and neurodevelopment.
In early infancy, the primary needs of attachment, feeding, sleeping, and digesting can be disrupted if the child has experienced birth in a traumatic way, or if some of the important early building blocks of development have somehow been bypassed.
BCST is a very gentle and non-invasive therapy to help the infant’s body regulate and find ease and peace in their world. It can assist them with moving through any held experiences that are impeding their development.
Therefore BCST can be valuable to the infant and caregivers with common issues such as colic, reflux, sleep deprivation, feeding latch issues, and unmet developmental milestones.

What can I expect at the first session?
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect during my first visit to a Craniosacral Therapist?
A short history will be taken including what brings you to the session, if you haven’t already filled in my online form or emailed form. You will lie fully clothed on the treatment table and I will most likely start by holding your feet. Your system will guide me as to where I need to treat, either staying at the feet, or moving to different parts of your body that require reintegration or support. This is a client-led modality.

Depending on your awareness of your own body, there may be talking throughout, or you may lie in relative silence. You are always welcome to talk, or ask questions and move throughout the session to be as comfortable as possible.
I don’t manipulate, but sometimes you may feel sensations of twitching, shaking, buzzing, rushes, ‘adjustments’ that literally move your body. This is the opportunity for your body to ‘de-frag’ as it wants to, to work optimally.
For a baby or child, the initial session will also be an hour, always in the presence of the parent or parents, who can be included in the treatment if they wish. Follow up sessions are generally allocated 30 minutes.
I make time and space to hear from the parent and child’s perspective, what is going on. So a short history, and birth story will be useful as well as the reason for the session.
Hands-on contact time may vary depending on the needs of each individual baby or child. Often, babies and young children will be treated on their mum or dad’s lap. Toddlers may be worked with sitting beside a parent or, on the floor as they play or are amused by a parent. A favourite book or toy is often useful as long as not too stimulating. School-aged children can make the most of the treatment table.
How many sessions do I need?
I believe it is essential to your healing journey, to take the time to build trust in the therapeutic relationship between the therapist, you and your body. Generally, three consecutive treatments are advised to anchor and support the changes that happen in the session but also for integration afterwards.

My work is family-centred, I am available to visit adults or children in the relaxed atmosphere of their own home, or in a hospital/care setting. This can hugely aid recovery.
I also love working with families pre and post-natally. It’s a magical and humbling time, but can also be fraught: everyone involved needs a lot of extra support. Home visits for mum and bub especially soon after delivery, can really be life-changing.
How can Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) help my child?
Birth is the biggest transition we will ever make. We are made for this process, but sometimes we need a little help adjusting to life outside of the fluid, fully nurtured environment.

BCST is especially useful in this regard: honouring what is and often helping mother and baby attune to each other more effectively.
Whilst a baby’s body is well designed to meet the requirements of being born, such as soft cranial bones to assist in negotiating the birth canal, a system that switches from being fed from a tube to the gut to through the mouth and of course switching on lung breathing – there is a lot the body has to negotiate, so discomfort or dis-ease may remain within the body. This may show itself, for example, as wind, a difficulty to establish feeding at the breast, a reluctance to lie in a particular position, or distress that interrupts sleeping.
BCST is particularly useful for babies, as it is does not use any manipulation of any kind, and is therefore extremely gentle and safe for their delicate bodies.
BCST in the hands of a PACT registered practitioner is a safe and highly effective way of assisting babies to return to a comfortable, happy and healthy state of being.

How can Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) help parents?
Having a baby or child’s health improve or recover can be a great relief for a parent! Since the baby relates to its world through the felt sense and primarily through contact with the mother, they often present with similar patterns to their mother. Treating the mother or parents at the same time as the baby can significantly enhance the babies’ response to treatment.

For women in the child-bearing years, BCST is a lovely way of maintaining comfort and health, supporting and discomforts of pregnancy. It is also a very relaxing and enjoyable way of supporting the return to a non-pregnant state, helping your body to adjust after birth, so you can more easily meet the demands of parenting a newborn.
Fathers can also be supported to adjust to the demands of their new role, as BCST can be a very helpful way to support the management of stress caused by the addition of a baby to the household.
Often what people attribute to ageing is simply your body’s way of saying that some maintenance and support to let go of patterns of tension or pain is required.
